Applying Strip False Eyelashes

Apply your false eyelashes after your make-up is completed.

STEP 1

The most important step is to ensure the false eyelash strip fits correctly to your eye.

  • Before applying the glue hold the lash strip along your natural lash line – the strip needs to end approx 0.5cm before the end of your natural lash line. This ensures your lashes look natural and your eye is lifted. If you let the false eyelash strip go beyond this point your eyes will look droopy! If the lash strip is too long trim the end with scissors so it fits BEFORE APPLYING ANY GLUE.

STEP 2

STEP 3

  • Apply a thin line of false eyelash adhesive to the strip of the false eyelash, applying a tiny bit extra adhesive to each end of the lash strip. Wait for this to go tacky – approx 30-60 seconds.
  • Starting from the inner corner of your eye, using tweezers or a false eyelash applicator, grip the lash strip in the center, close to one end. Push the end of the strip/glue against your natural lash line using the tweezers for precision. Using the tweezers, gently move across the band/glue, pressing the lash strip down all the way across. Repeat for the other eye.

STEP 4 (Optional)

  • Apply eyeliner to create a seamless fit.

TIP:  DO NOT curl false eyelash strips with eyelash curlers as they are likely to become un-stuck.

Struggling to apply your false eyelashes?

It can be tricky if you have never applied false eyelashes before, instead of struggling follow these simple tips:

  • Some of the sexiest looks are created by applying one quarter, or half, of a false eyelash strip to the outer corner of your eyes; this makes application so much easier and gives you good practice for applying a full strip.

  • Japonesque ZM-410 Sectional 4 false eyelashes are already cut into 4 segments. Try applying one of the sections to the outer corner of your natural eyelashes. Apply the false lash segment about 0.5 cm in from the edge of your natural lash line. This will give a winged effect and lift and open the eye instantly. Experiment further by next applying a segment to the centre of your natural lash line.

  • Elise style 121 are half or “Doll” eyelashes, also check out the Japonesque “Demi” eyelashes – Styles: ZM402 and ZM409, these are also half sized lashes designed for the outer corners of your eyes – they create eye-popping results! Apply the false eyelash about 0.5 cm in from the edge of your natural lash line, as close to your own eyelashes as possible. See Step 3 above but in this case start from the outer corner.

Another way to make things easier is to snip the false lash strip in half – this will only work with certain styles.  Ileza H120, and JMF3M, and Red Cherry 12, 101, 118 and 68 all work well for this method of application.

  • Follow STEP 1 and 2 of the previous section, then snip the false eyelash in half.

  • Now apply adhesive to the false eyelash half that fits on the outer half of your eye. Wait for the adhesive to become tacky, approx 30-60 seconds, then grip the false eyelash with tweezers and press down on the outer corner of your eye, (0.5 cm’s in) and just above your natural lash line. Gently move across the strip, pushing it down on to your natural lash line. Now repeat with the other half of the false eyelash strip, starting from where you left off, across to the inner corner of your eye. Repeat for your other eye.

Applying Strip Lower Lashes

The best way to enlarge your eyes is to apply false eyelashes top and bottom. When applying upper and lower false eyelashes, always applylower lashes first and make sure the adhesive has completely dried before applying upper lashes.

STEP 1

  • Ensure the lower false eyelash strip fits correctly to your eye. Before applying the glue hold the lash strip along your natural lash line – the strip needs to end approx half a centimetre before the end of your natural lash line. This ensures your lashes look natural. If the lash strip is too long trim the end with scissors so it fits.

STEP 2

  • Apply mascara to your natural lower lashes and wait for it to dry.

STEP 3

  • Apply a thin line of eyelash adhesive to the UNDER SIDE of the lower false eyelash strip. Wait approx 30-60 seconds for the glue to go tacky.

  • Starting from the inner corner or your eye, grip the lash strip in the center, close to one end. Push the end of the strip/glue just above your natural lower lash line using the tweezers for precision. Using the tweezers, gently move across the band/glue, pressing the lash strip down all the way across. Repeat for the other eye.

TIP: You may need to give this a few goes before you get it right. If this is the case, remove the dried adhesive with tweezers before re-applying more adhesive.

HINT: Get creative and experiment by wearing one quarter, or sections, of a dramatic style of strip lashes on your lower lashes. The looks you can create are endless!

Applying Individual False Eyelashes

To apply Individual False Eyelashes Ardell LashTite Adhesive and Ardell LashFree Adhesive Remover are needed. Individual false eyelashes are designed for longer wear and can stay on for up to one week if looked after well.

TIP: When using Individual lashes apply them mainly to the outer corners of the eyes.

TIP: Use individual clusters of lashes in the outer corners, if you want to go further across the eye use single strand individual lashes.

STEP 1

  • If you think the individual lashes are too long, trim them to the desired length.

STEP 2

  • Pour a small amount of LashTite or Individual Eyelash Adhesive on to a piece of tin foil.

STEP 3

  • Using tweezers pick up 1 individual lash cluster. Dip the bulb of the lash into the adhesive. Start 0.5cm in from the outer edge of your natural lash line, gently wiggle the false lash into the base of your own lashes, as close to your lash line as possible (note the false eyelash is meant to stick to your own lashes NOT your eyelid) then release the tweezers.

  • Repeat, working along the lash line until you have the desired effect. Do not worry about the white blobs of adhesive as this will dry clear.

TIP: The lashes may develop kinks when you sleep – if this happens gently heat the Japonesque Precision Lash Curler with your hairdryer (check the temperature of the curler on your hand in case you have got it to hot) and carefully curl the lashes, applying the lash curler just after where you have glued.

Removing Individual False eyelashes

To remove Individual False Eyelashes you will need Ardell LashFree Adhesive Remover, some tissue and cotton buds.

STEP1

  • Pour a small amount of LashFree Remover into the lid.

  • Hold a tissue underneath your upper eyelashes and close your eye.

STEP 2

  • Dip a cotton bud into the LashFree Remover and gently roll over the individual lash bulb (keeping the eye closed at all times). After about 30-60 seconds of doing this the false lash will become free. Test this by gently holding the end of the false eyelash you are removing, it will become free easily if all of the adhesive has been dissolved.

  • DO NOT pull at the false eyelash as this could pull your own eyelashes out! Once the false eyelash has been removed, move on to the next one.

IMPORTANT! Avoid getting the product in your eye, if this occurs follow the instructions on the bottle.

HINT: DO NOT re-use Individual False Eyelashes.

Removing False Eyelash Strips

Make sure you always remove your strip lashes before going to bed; this will lengthen the life of your false eyelashes, and protect your own eyelashes.

STEP 1

  • Using a cotton pad, soak it in either warm water or with a gentle eye makeup remover. Hold the cotton pad over the strip lash for 2-3 minutes, then carefully remove the false eyelash starting at the outer corner. Repeat for the other eye.

STEP 2

  • Once removed carefully remove the adhesive from the false eyelashes with a cotton bud soaked in eye makeup remover, or peel the adhesive off gently using tweezers. Next, soak the false eyelashes in surgical spirit for up to five minutes to sterilise. Store the lashes back in the box.
